Classic Hungarian Ratatouille / Lecho


2 onions
1 clove of garlic
oil or fat
1 kg of paprika
5 tomatoes
1 piece of country sausage
smoked bacon
150 g of rice

Cooking Instructions:

Step 1 – For the lecho, cut the onion into cubes or grate it on the larger stage of the cheese grater. Sauté in a little fat and add the grated garlic. Season with salt and pepper, then add the sliced ​​paprika and steam under the lid.

Step 2 – Peel the tomatoes, cut the sausage into rings and add to the paprika. We also add a small piece of smoked bacon.

Step 3 – Heat the rice with a few drops of oil, then add it to the lecho. Pour 2 dl of hot water over it and cook until ready in 20 minutes.

Step 4 – The lecho is served hot. It goes well with fresh bread and pickled cucumbers.
